Calling all Penn data science students! The Penn Program on Opinion Research and Election Studies (PORES) is pleased to announce they will be hosting the 6th annual hackathon on Saturday, March 29, 2025.
Held in person, participants will work in teams of 2-4 people and have a day to analyze public policy data. This year, teams will be provided with consumer complaint data from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The Hackathon is open to all Penn students who have taken any data science courses or have data analysis experience. The event will be hosted from 10 AM – 5 PM in the Forum of the Ronald O. Perelman Center for Political Science and Economics. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Teams will be evaluated on a variety of criteria by a group of notable, external judges. Prizes will be awarded to top teams. This is a great opportunity to improve your data science skills through collaboration with your peers and to learn from PORES faculty and staff affiliates.
If you plan to participate, please sign up your team using this form: https://upenn.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_eUT9N6X6whg3KRw. If you have any questions in the lead-up to the start of the hackathon, please reach out to Andrew Arenge (aarenge@sas.upenn.edu).
